(Belated) Friday Feeling #5

001. I'm so sorry i didn't get to do my Friday Feeling yesterday! I have been feeling really lousy this week, and i'm still not feeling 100%, but i don't really have much to tell you about this week! I've just been working towards my pathway review, which was yesterday. It seemed to go very well, with my tutor trying on my Architecture headpieces! Well, i've passed and she was very positive, so i'm very happy that part of the course is all over; full steam ahead with FMP after half term!

002. When i venture to Southampton, this half term, i'm hoping to do an every day'Southampton Clothing Diary' as i like to dress well when i go, it's nice to try new things out when you're away from your day to day life. In fact, i'm quite excited for a break from day to day life! If i don't get time to do it every day, i'll fill you all in in my Friday Feeling.

003. This is the outfit i wore today (Saturday) to go university shopping, just something a bit different as i feel i'm starting to get my flare back!

Shorts: Topshop / Long Sleeve Top: Primark / Strap Top: H&M / Lace Top: New Look / Tights: Tesco

I bought these shorts such a long time ago, but i never really wear them; probably because it irritates me that they're a really creasy fabric, but they're so soft and really stylish. They're easy to dress up or down, and they're also very comfortable! This little lacey top, i actually bought in the sale, i believe, and it's so, so adorable! So easy to wear with lots of different things, but especially cute with shorts and skirts. ALSO, don't you think these tights are soooo sweet! They were unbelieveably cheap at only a couple of pounds from tesco, but they're lovely to wear. Layering seems to keep cropping up with me lately!

I hope you guys have had a more interesting week than i have!

Spring

I am finally beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel! Not only because the sun is finally coming out to say "hello! spring is here!" but also because, as you know, my Pathway Review is on Friday so i've been franitcally trying to get everything ready and i've finally finished the maxi skirt i was making for my latest 'Hidden' project. It's such a simple design, but the print really speaks for itself! I'm really proud of it and happy with the outcome, i just hope they appreciate all my hard work, this Friday!

The sun is definitely brightening my mood, and i'm incredibly happy that spring is well on it's way - it's extrememly needed! It's only 2 weeks until half term, things can only get better! Something that also REALLY brightened my week was my acceptance for my favourite university! .. Drum Rolllllll .. Southampton! I can't believe i finally know where i'm going in September, and spending the next 3 years of my life, for sure! I have to say that i have well and truly fallen head over heels with Southampton; the city, the course & everything in between. I'm extremely excited and i have to say that for the first time ever, this really just feels like everything is finally falling into place; everything feels right. When people said to me "when you find the right university, you'll just know, you'll get the feeling" I really didn't understand or believe it, but if i have one piece of advice for anybody applying to university - it's to follow your heart, you really do just know what's right. You can kid yourself that there are 2 that are your favourites, or that you like them all or that you're not quite sure - but if there's a right one, you really do just know.

I never normally do outfit posts about what i wear over the Monday/Tuesday period, because it's always normally the same thing - unless for different circumstances but i was quite proud of Monday's little number. It's SO simple, quite plain and very comfortable but i really quite like it. (It was also the first time in MONTHS i didn't have to wear a long sleeve top underneath my top/cardi (!!!) Hello Spring!)

Jeggings: Next Tall / Top: Topshop / Cardigan: H&M / Scarf: H&M

These jeggings are a serious staple in my wardrobe; comfortable and easy to dress, they work with so many different styles. PLUS they're from Next's Tall range and they fit like a dream (minus all baggy-at-the-knee dramas which are my absolute pet hate!) The top is something i've had since about 2 summers ago when i went shopping at Bluewater, Kent, trying to find the perfect Leavers Ball dress (i was unlucky on said trip - but it's fine as i came across this cute piece and a gorgeous topshop festival hate that kept my head safe all summer long! Shame i forgot it at Glastonbury 2010, maybe i would have come home without sporting ONE burnt ear...) ANYWAY, i was really drawn to, not only the interesting print, but also it's beautiful shape. You can't really see from my pictures but it's got a subtle hanky hem and is really nice and flowy style. At the back, it's also got like a racer back and got a really cool knot at the back, really subtle aspect but i think it just finishes the back off nicely. The colour of this cardigan is also really gorgeous, these pictures do NOT do it justice! But it's such a gorgeous, deep violet and it goes with so much! Serious cardigan love.

I really cannot wait for this week, and next, to be over and i can finally take a well earned break (apart from thinking about and brainstorming for my FMP starting after half term; SIGH) I hope you're all having a productive week, as i am!

Friday Feeling #4

001.

This is what my life is like at the moment - busy, cluttered and crazy! & This picture pretty much sums up my time as well! I'm franticly rolling out designes, references, designer inspirations & ideas! It's absolutely ridiculous how much work i have to do in the time frame i have (i can't believe they told us yesterday that everything is in for tomorrow, when we thought it was in for 2 weeks - you can get a lot done in an extra week!) I have to say, it's taking all my strength not to just break down and scream "i can't do it!" Probably isn't helping that the mr has jetted off to Amsterdam until Sunday with his friends for a post-exams break, while I'M here, on my own - a complete emotional wreck and a total recluse! In fact, i'm most definitely NOT loving life at the moment!! Give it 2 weeks..

002. It was absolutely lovely to spend a rare Tuesday evening with my fabulous friends, especially the ones i barely see - even though they live just around the corner! We spent a loud, but great evening together at Frankie & Benny's - which i havn't been to since my birthday in April, and i thoroughly enjoyed it (however, i do believe that F&B's has gone way down hill in the last couple of years!) The absolute highlight was, one of our friends arrived late due to work commitments so we told our waitress that it was her birthday and asked for her dessert to be brought out with a candle & for everyone to sing to her! She was a great sport and it was brilliant to see the shock in her face!:

Here are a couple more of snaps from the night!

"Thank you for being nice on her birthday, she does not get out much. All our love, the very loud table! x" - A note left for our waitress, referring to Kez.

003. According to the mr, he has a few surprises up his sleeve for me and as we all know, surprises make for interesting blogging, and i can't wait to show you all what i'm going to be up to for the next 6 months! From March - Beginning of May, i'll be working on my FMP (Final Major Project) & despite a really intense work load, i'm hoping i'll be able to keep you updated with how i'm getting on and what i'm producing. However, i'm also very excited for the Easter Holidays as it houses 2 very important events - My 19th Birthday & The Mr and I will have been going out for 2 years! I'm very excited as there'll be lots of adventures for me to share with you all. At the end of February i'm going to Amsterdam, on a college trip, which should be very exciting and inspiring (hopefully!) From June to September, the Mr & I are hoping to do some travelling around the UK, to visit some of his siblings as one is having a baby (!), one has just got a gorgeous new puppy (!), one has a baby who will be just over a year old (!) and one who will be getting married in December(!) We're also hoping to spend some time in Southampton, as he'll be moving into a new house during the summer months. At the moment my life is very, very static and i'm getting a bit sick of it! So hopefully this will all break it up a bit before i hop off to university in September, which i definitely can't wait to share with you - Where, i am yet to announce!

004. Anyone interested in the latest Spring/Summer 11 Designer Collections, i have to reccomend two - which i've featured in my contextual book - Jean Paul Gaultier & Christian Dior Haute Couture. The colours, fabric & amazing shape are what drew me to both and they're definitelt worth checking out!

Plaits & Frills,

I woke up this morning really awake and actually looking forward to college - This is unheard of! Well, i say looking forward to college.. when actually i mean, i was looking forward to spending the day giggling with my girlies - Jess Long, Lisa Barnett & Sam Eagling actually make college worth getting up for! AS I KEEP DRILLING INTO YOU, i also have a huge mountain of work to do - so it was good to get on with that with absolutely no distractions (like writing my blog...) However, i digress; waking up in such a sunny mood - to actually match the weather for once (hello spring!) I decided to wear something a little more interesting today, to match my mood:

Dress: H&M Via Sale / Top (Underneath): Primark / Cardigan: H&M / Belt: New Look / Leggings: Next

I absolutely love the way this dress makes me feel! It's not something i would normally pick up but i was feeling adventurous and hopeful for the new year, and i was pleasantly suprised on the outcome! The denim is so light and so soft - making it incredibly comfortable, and i am loyal fan to comfy dresses! It's so easy to wear, which is fab - especially for college, and it'll be easy to wear through the year. I really like the long sleeve top undernearth, layering is a constant favourite of mine and i think the green and tones of blue work really nicely together. The frills would normally be too girly for me, as i like an edge to my clothing but with this dress - it just works, and i love it and i loveeeeeee pockets!

I have just been told today that my pathway review is a week tomorrow and i have an entire maxi skirt to make before then, so i really should get a wiggle on! I hope you're all having a productive week!

2 February 2011

Happy February!

Well, i don't know about any of you but i, for one, am entirely glad that the dreaded January is over! However, the January blues seem to be creeping into the February blues, which is so not good! It's 3 weeks until half term, and i have an absolute mountain of work to do before then! However, i'm keeping my eyes on the prize (of spending a fab week in Southampton with the mr) and just getting on with things - however difficult that may be!

What did brighten up my week, nevertheless, was a lovely parcel from topshop.com, containing these little beauties:

MAXINE Leopard Print Multi Buckle Pumps

Once i spotted them i knew i needed them and decided to let what happened to the Camel Jeans not happen to me again! They also do them in black suade and i am far too tempted..

I hope you're all having a sunnier start to February than i am!
