How I Keep My Make Up On

Now, i know that we're entering into Autumn but i just never got the time to share with you my favourite product for keeping my make up on this Summer. Unlike me, i know that some of you are unlucky enough to have super oily skin all year 'round so this still might be useful for you.

This Summer i could not have been without the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray. In the Summer, i'm unfortunate enough to get very oily skin and therefore my makeup just goes sliding all over the place but this little beauty kept almost everything in place. You can spray as much or as little as you wish, you could simply target your oiliest areas or spray all over. It feels light and weightless, not too wet and has a great spray. It doesn't make the skin feel tight, and you can't even feel that you're wearing it.

When i was originally looking for something to help me with my longevity issue, i also decided to try the De-Slick Setting Spray, also by Urban Decay. This one is actually targeted for oilier skins but i found it to dehydrate my combination skin. Although my T-Zone does get oily, and my cheeks get oilier later in the day this just made my foundation go patchy or pick up any blemishes. However, i can only imagine that if you have very oily skin, this will further help with keeping your makeup in place.

Current Favourites: September

I really enjoy hearing about people's favourites, so i thought it about time to do another favourites post of my own. This time, however, it's not all about the products; i thought i'd share with you just some of my random favourites. If there are any other favourites you'd like to hear about, please do share! How many times can i say favourites?! Now, lets get on with the post;

Nail Polish | This little beauty is what i chose as my holiday colour, this year. Usually i opt for Models Own's Champagne but i just don't love the texture anymore, it was thick and gloopy and never lasted very long. So, when i found this whilst scrolling through China Glaze's collections i thought i'd give it a go, and i love it. It's slightly more silver toned than champagne but it's so intensely shimmery and stays on for so long. What i do love most is how quickly it dries, that is one of my number one qualities in nail polish because noone has time to sit and wait for it to dry.

Eyeshadow | I have been using Sin so often in my eye looks, lately, and it's definitely the most used shade in my Naked Palette. It's just the perfect champagne, natural base for me as it's fairly similar to my skin tone just intensely shimmery. Urban Decay eyeshadows are one of my favourite products; they last all day, they're creamy and blendable, plus they come in every colour under the sun. I love wearing Sin on it's own or as a base to add a pop of colour in the outer corner. My favourites for that at the moment are MAC's Cranberry, Mildew or ACDC by Urban Decay.

Song | I had never heard of the original song until i heard this cover on youtube. I've listened to and downloaded a lot of Landon Austin's covers before, and i really love his country vibe. So, when i heard this one it was right up my alley, it's catchy and i love singing it in my car. I do really like to support youtubers, where i can, and often download their cover over the original, and in this case i much preferred the cover to the original. This is the perfect song to singalong to in my car, when i'm driving home from work.

Place | This always has been and always will be my favourite place on earth. I've only just got back and i miss it already. I know it sounds so corny and cliche, but there is just something so magical about Disney World. I've loved visiting as a child, and now as an adult, with my parents and i really look forward to the future when i can make some new memories, hopefully with, perhaps, friends or a partner. I feel like every child should get the chance to visit once, because it's the place where dreams come true. Plus, this is definitely the best Disney park - way better than California and Paris, any day.

Book | Another Disney related answer next; i have read all of the Kingdom Keepers series, as i found it in Disney World. I'm just working on the last book now, which in my opinion isn't as good as the rest as it's set in Disneyland, California, but i have loved investing my time, thoughts and emotions into the characters in this series. I don't know many people who wouldn't want to spend time inside the Disney World parks, after hours, and fight evil with good to save everything that Disney stands for. Maybe that's just me, but if you're a Disney World fan or into sci-fi, alternate reality, somewhat dramatic books - which is totally not my usual thing, but they're written so well and you really invest in the characters and the scenery is, obviously, amazing - then i recommend giving these a read.

Food | Cheese. I have always loved cheese, don't get me wrong, but lately i cannot get enough of Feta, especially. On salads, spaghetti hoops on toast, just on toast alone, pasta, anything. It's just so yummy, and Halloumi is perfect for the Summer months; on salads or alone, and its great on the barbecue -  i love mine grilled too.

Shop | I love Sephora; maybe because it's not so attainable here but it stocks so many brands i'd love to try. So shopping there in America was like the mothership calling me home. In the UK, Space NK kind of has that feel for me. It stocks so many brands that i've never heard of and i love trying new things.

So, there you have it; my current, random favourites. Feel free to share yours with me, in the comments, i'd love to know.

Why I Struggle with Blogging

I've been blogging on Legs Eleven since 2010, and since then a lot of things of changed. When it all began i was in College, with plenty of time on my hands for blogging. I was studying art & textiles, so had plenty of creative opportunity. I really had no idea about the bigger blogging community and when i started it was more about what popped into your brain than what popped through your letterbox. Now there's so much stigma about blogging, whether it's about image copyright or PR samples or sponsorship, and somewhere along the way i found it quite hard to find my niche.

Legs Eleven has evolved from a personal blog to anything from lifestyle, fashion & beauty, with a big dose of the beauty of late. What i love, though, is that i can write about whatever i'm loving right now. It's been amazing to watch my blogging phases; it started off with short, chatty posts about Kate Middleton's wedding dress and the X Factor, to constant OOTDs and now it's turned into beauty and reviews, but that's what i love most. Legs Eleven is my corner of the internet, so i can write whatever i want.

However now i'm in a full time job where i leave the house at 7am and don't get home until 7pm, i work alternate weekends and every other late night Wednesday until 8pm, arriving home at 9pm. Although i do enjoy what i do, it does leave little room for blogging and more importantly, i do feel as though my creativity has been put to one side. So, beauty reviews are easy for me to write about at the moment, but it doesn't mean that it's always exactly what i want. I enjoy everything that i post but sometimes you have to come to a compromise between what you want to write and what you can. I'd much rather write something than nothing, anyway.

I don't really know where i'm going with this post, i just really missed writing the chatty, lifestyle posts so thought i'd just sit and write. Plus, i think all bloggers have some sort of writers block, or a change in their lives to make blogging harder. I do just love the whole blogging community and everything about blogging, and i'm not quite ready to give that up just yet. I'm not going to edit this post either, i don't think. I'm just going to let all my thoughts just spill out onto the page and leave it that way. Sometimes it's quite nice to write like that and to read too. Anyway, i just wanted to say that although i'm posting more regularly now, it doesn't come easy and sometimes i have to write like two months of posts in advance because i know i won't get time to do them otherwise.

Do you ever have any blogging struggles? Please do share because i really would love to listen! I know i'm not the only one.

30 Before 30

So, recently i saw a lovely 30 before 30 list on someones blog - now i cannot remember, for the life of me, who's blog it was- and i thought that would be a nice thing to do. Once upon a time i kind of believed that you could only make new resolutions and goals at the beginning of the year, but over the last couple of years i've come to love setting myself goals all year through. So i thought, why not? I turned 23 this year and actually in 2012, when i turned 20, i actually did a 25 before 25 list. So i thought it'd be interesting to revisit that, see how things have changed and then create a new, more up-to-date list.

So, for starters lets run down my original list and see what i've achieved and how things have changed; sit back because this is going to be a lengthy one.

1. Graduate from University with a grade i'm proud of.
- So this one, i'm proud to say, that i did achieve. I graduated my degree, from Southampton Solent University, with a 2:1, in BA(Hons) Writing, Fashion & Culture. I was very proud of this because many people may not now that as i was finishing my second year and going into my third, i began to really struggle at university and it took all i had to finish with a 2:1 and that i will always be truly proud of.

2. Secure a job, somewhere i want to be.
- This is something that i find tricky because i love my current job now, and although it's not where i see my career going i've secured a job and it's somewhere i want to be. So, i technically have achieved this one but it's not where i want to be forever and that's what i think i was going for when i set this one.

3. Continue Legs Eleven to her full potential.
- Yes, i've taken breaks and yes, things have changed but i am so proud that i am still posting, posting about what i want and, for the most part, still loving it.

4. Find products that help me to take better care of my skin, and begin to take better care.
- Oh goodness, i have certainly done this. My skin is looking better now then it has done in years and that is all down to skincare research, talking to the right people and blogs.

5. Comment on the blogs posts i read.
- I am still so, so bad at this. It's something that i really do need to make time to do because i read blogs religiously so it's only right that i comment and take the time to interact.

6. Find my Scent.
- My scent is Daisy by Marc Jacobs, i love it. However, i've also come to love other fragrances too, such as Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue, that i wear on a weekly basis switching between scents, it's been lovely to dabble with perfumes but Daisy will always be my go-to.

7. Leave the country, without my parents, other than a University trip.
- This is still yet to happen, mainly because when you're young, i don't think you tend to realise what your priorities will be as you grow up. For me, i still live at home, i have a great relationship with my parents and my main goal right now is to save to buy a house. If my parents are lovely enough to take me on holiday, then i will sure as heck not decline and most of my money goes on saving for my future home right now. Hopefully, though, within the near future i'll be heading on a little girly weekend trip.

8. See one of my favourite artists live.
- I am still yet to do this, there are just always other things to spend money on!

9. Become engaged.
- Wow, how things change. This is something that will happen when it happens. No rush.

10. To be decorating my own home.
- I've already touched on this but i'm, still, currently living at home, hoping, waiting and saving for my own little space. Damn, houses are expensive!

11. To own a MAC lipstick.
- Once upon a time spending £15 on a lipstick sounded ludicrous. Now, i own way too many and you can read about them all in my MAC Lipstick Collection Post.

12. Continue to find myself, alone and as part of a couple.
- This, i feel, is something that you are always working on. Currently i feel the most at peace with myself i have ever done, but there's always plenty of space to grow.

13. Keep in contact with the girls that are helping to shape my University years, amazingly too.
- Sadly, things change and people grow differently.

14. Know the tubes like a real Londoner.
- I just don't spend enough time there, to do this. However, i am much more savvy on the tubes than i once was.

15. Get published in a publication i currently read religiously.
- I have been published in my local Style magazine, which i was insanely proud of, and i have helped fulfil photoshoots and stories in a couple of editions of Good Housekeeping magazine. That i am proud of, and now i'm not so sure if the main aim is to be published. Dreams change.

16. Hear Take That Sing "Never Forget" live.
- This i still want so, so bad. Recently my manager went to see them at Wembley and sent me a video of this. Does that count?! Plus, is it just me or is Take That getting smaller and smaller!?

17. Begin to see the world, out there.
- There is still time for this. Some people have the yearning to go travelling when they're young and spend months and months at a time going all across the globe. For me, my goals are to get a house and a job that will look after me comfortably, and then travel around when i have the money and time to do so.

18. Continue to grow my hair.
- I'm still doing this, although my hair seems to get to a certain length and just stop, it is still growing.

19. Meet Alice Bailey.
- Not, as of yet!

20. Spend time in London when i'm not working or rushing and can enjoy our Capital city.
- I do get to travel to London whenever i want, now. I've been plenty of times to mooch and shop and see what i want to see.

21. Become an Iphone user.
- Been there, done that.

22. I'd like a puppy.
- This is way off in my future. Puppies take time, and money, and dedication which, right now, i don't have enough of any of them.

23. Buy fresh flowers more often.
- This i actually do all the time now. It's just so lovely and they brighten up any space.

24. Let go.
- This is such a weird one, but as i've said i'm comfortable with myself and i'm learning, and growing, every day.

25. Know where i'm going, and as who.
- Does anyone ever know this? When i wrote this i was embarking on a new chapter at university and you're supposed to know what you want to do, when and where, and have your ten year plan. Life doesn't always work like that and i'm happy living life day by day.

So, that's where i saw myself four years ago, but what about my 30 before 30 list? I actually think this is really hard because, as you can see, things change so drastically but i think it is always nice to have goals. I fell like now i can find it easier to make realistic challenges as i understand life and myself better, too.

1. Buy My First Home.
The ultimate goal for any 20-something, living at home, i'm sure.

2. Travel the World.
Similar to how i explained before, once i'm settled i'd like to holiday all over the globe.

3. Go to the Cinema on my Own.
This is a recent goal, as there are so many films i miss seeing because it's difficult to get your friends together to see something so why not go by myself?

4. Pamper Myself.
I only ever really get my legs waxed, or get a massage, or a facial when it's my birthday or i'm going on holiday and i think i need to do something about that.

5. Join some Workout Classes.
I'm not hugely overweight or super lazy but i'd really like to work on my fitness.

6. Go on a Girls' Trip.
This is something i've always wanted to do, and now i have the money (kind of) to do so, a weekend trip away with my lovely friends sounds amazing. Disneyland Paris is already on the cards!

7. Read 25 Books.
That averages at about three books a year. Considering currently i'm reading a grand total of zero, i think three in 12 months sounds do-able.

8. Have Afternoon Tea.
It's just something i've always wanted to do, and there are so many fun ones now. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party at the Dorchester in London is at the top of my list or perhaps Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Tea Room, in the Grand Floridian at Disney World?!

9. Visit Disney World with Someone other than my Parents.
Something else i've always wanted to do; although this one is a little far fetched as it's very pricey, i really want to share my favourite place, in the world, with someone.

10. Spend a 4th of July in America.
Because why not?!

11. Join an Evening Class.
Something else i've been meaning to get around to but just never seem to find the time. There's so many things i'd like to try; HTML, cooking, jewellery, Photoshop.

12. Be Part of a Colour Run.
I've seen people from work do it and plenty of people on Youtube, it just looks like so much fun. Plus, i'd like to be in a fitness place where i could at least lightly jog and walk it.

13. Attend a Youtube Convention.
This is on my forever dream list; whether it's Vidcon, Playlist Live, or something closer to home.

14. Keep a Year Long Memory Jar, and Stick to It.
I always see bloggers do these and i think it's a lovely idea to look back at the end of the year.

15. Grow a Successful Kitchen Garden.
Currently, i'm just not getting it right. Some plants grow bigger and overshadow the smaller ones, plus i'd like to grow a few veg too.

16. Become an Organ Donor.
I don't really know why i'm not already, but after a recent loss in my local area i think it's about time.

17. Dye my hair back to Purple.
I just miss it so much!

18. Stop Drinking Fizzy Drinks.
Fizzy drinks are my weakness, and i know i don't need them but they're something i enjoy - however much i know they're bad for me.

19. Try New Restaurants.
I always go to the same places and it's about time i branch out.

20. Wear More Lipstick.
I have so many beautiful colours, but i just always wimp out!

21. Finish My Evening with Sit Ups.
I've always wanted to do this, i just get too lazy before bed.

22. Find my Faith.
Whether it's a way i want to live my life or not, i'm not sure, but i'd like to look into it further.

23. Visit a Spa.
Who doesn't?

24. Learn to take the Perfect Picture.
Another class i'd maybe like to join; at one point in my life i wanted to go to university for photography, so i think an evening class would be nice.

25. Perfect a Signature Dish.
I don't hate cooking, i just don't do it enough. Plus, it's nice to have something to fall back on.

26. Visit Five New Places in the UK.
Because we're all pretty quick to jump ship but there are plenty of beautiful place on your back step.

27. Buy some Expensive Sunglasses.
I've always bought cheap sunglasses, but this time i'd like to treat myself. For some people it's shoes or bags, for me it's also sunglasses.

28. Buy Something from Selfridges that costs more than £20.
I'd like to save enough to treat myself to something lovely.

29. Step Away from the Laptop.
Maybe once a week, maybe once a month, but i'd really like to take the time to do something other than look at a laptop screen.

30. Make Better Food Choices.
Last but not least, it's something i know i need to do and something i'm working on but also something i'd like to take more seriously.

There you have, my new 30 before 30 list. Do you have one, if so please do link it in the comments as i'd love to give it a read!

Hakuna Matata!

Hakuna Matata
noun

1. A Swahili phrase translated to: "No Problems".
2. A meaning akin to: "Don't worry, be happy".

I've been writing so many blog posts lately, and i've written so many in advance and scheduled them, that i'm not sure what i've said and when. However, i'm pretty sure i've mentioned somewhere that although i love doing reviews, and find them helpful myself, i really want to get back into Legs Eleven being a little more lifestyle too. So, i thought i'd do a bit of a chatty one today and share with you what's been going on.

As i said, i want to get things back to my roots. Legs Eleven started as a very lifestyle blog as i didn't have the resources to be trying lots of new products, etc so honestly, you can really see how i've grown as a person and how my styles have changed, just by reading the blog. I always liked make-up but when i first started this, i felt it was more of a necessity than a passion. I'm not one of those beauty enthusiasts that can say they've been playing with pretend make up since i was, like, five but in the past five years my love for all things beauty has just continued to grow. I am fascinated by the beauty industry, everything make-up and skincare and i love emerging myself in beauty blogs. People often suggest that perhaps the beauty industry is the way forward for me, but i'm not so sure. I just love being a consumer, seeing trends appear and sharing things with the world wide web.

That's honestly what i love so much about blogging and the internet. Yes, there are plenty of horrible corners but blogging is such a special thing. Everyone in the world could have a blog, and yet every blog would be completely different, because that's how we are as humans. I love that we can all write about whatever we want and, usually, there will be someone who will enjoy reading it or get something from it. I do go through struggles with blogging, as i'm sure most people do. I've taken breaks and changed the topics that i write about multiple times, and there's nothing wrong with having a little writer's block or loss of inspiration, it's really natural when you share so much and put so much effort into something. I've actually got a post coming up next week about my struggles with blogging, and that is a very chatty one so make sure to come back next week for that one.

As i'm writing this, i'm about two days away from going on holiday - but when you're reading this i'll have been home for about two weeks. I'm just not sure what time i'm going to have, or if i'm going to feel like blogging straight when i get home so i've planned pretty much all my posts for September and scheduled them. Anyway, i am so flipping excited for a holiday, don't get me wrong i really do enjoy my job but it's about time i have a well earned break. For those of you who don't know, i work in a John Lewis department store in the womenswear department. I'm usually doing anything from tills to fitting rooms, to customer service and supervising the running of the floor. I really do enjoy it, as i said, but it is hard work. Especially during times of the sales and when we're limited on staffing. There's a lot of things i also love about John Lewis as a business and as i've been with them for over a year now, i'm now starting to think about what i want to do slightly more long term. I'm not sure whether to stay where i am or to look for something new, as although i love it, i really don't get paid enough. Everyone in the business knows that their shop floor partners don't get paid enough, and even our head of branch has agreed with that statement in the past few months as we're looking towards our three year plan, as a business.

It looks as though things may be changing, though, but i'm not sure how long it will take or even if it'll be enough to keep me in the business. I'm twenty-three and within the next five years, hopefully sooner rather than later, i want to buy my own house. Now, let me tell you, that does not come cheap so i need to decide if i want to stick around and see what happens or if it's time to move on to something new. I think when i get back from my holiday i will start looking at other jobs that are available, but maybe not move straight away. It'll be really hard to move because not only does the job come with great benefits but the people that i work with are truly amazing. I have met some life long friends at this job, and i feel lucky to know them.

I tell you what though, i am seriously enjoying Youtube at the moment. Don't get me wrong, i've always loved it, but i'm literally obsessed right now. Actually i'm really into everything social media too, maybe that's something i'd like to go into, in the future? Anyway, i'm really enjoying watching vlogs and what's funny is i really like watching family vloggers; at the moment i'm loving itsjudyslife, Marie bitsandclips and dailybumps but another category i love on Youtube is Disney Vloggers. About five years ago people started uploading their Disney holidays on Youtube and i used to love watching them before i went on my own trips to Disney but now, five years later, there's a whole community on Youtube for Disney Vloggers. My current favourites are SeeYaReelSoon, HAKZ Videos, Juliane June and Keith Lapinig. I love when people come together to share a communal passion, like i said earlier it's amazing that people can all share something they love online and there are so many other people who love to share in it too. I obviously love all the big vloggers too like Zoella and SprinkleofGlitter, i think it's lovely that they feel they can share more of the life as their 'main channel' videos are usually more structured.

While i was at university Youtube became my escape; i'm not sure i've really ever talked about my university experience but for my final two years i didn't really have any close friends to spend time with so Youtube became my escape. Luckily now, i have both. I love spending time with my friends from work, and we love going out for dinner. A massive benefit of working for John Lewis is we get discount off lots of places to eat so it's nice to go out after work with them and have a natter. We usually try not to talk about work, but it always ends up there!

Really, though, life right now is pretty good. I'm sad because a lot of my work friends are going to university in September so are either leaving or going part time, so i won't see them as much but i know that we'll still remain friends and i've already got plans to go and visit them. Previously i've learnt to spend a lot of time on my own, as i'm an only child and going through university, but i actually really don't mind my own company. It's nice, now, that i've got a good balance between everything.

However, as i explained earlier i am looking to buy a house but saving is taking a long time. Housing around where i live is very expensive, and this is where i'm looking to move. I live in a town about twenty minutes outside of Cambridge and it's fairly pricey, but the closer you get to Cambridge the more expensive housing becomes. Ideally, i'd like to be somewhere between work and where i currently live because i have great access to so many other amenities. Cambridge is great for shopping, i'm close to the A14 which can get me almost anywhere and i'm close the rail stations to get me into London. But all of this is what makes the housing pricey. I'm really only looking for a one, two would be nice, bedroom house with space for off road parking - or at least some space for me to consistently park. I'm not super fussed about having a garden, or dining room and i could live with having a kitchen/living room if i have to. It's just the prices! I've found nothing, really, below £130,000 to £150,000 which is crazy. Don't get me wrong, i'm lucky in where i live now. I get on with my parents, i don't have to pay rent as they want me to save as much as i can and i have a good sized room, it's just more about having my own space. I spent three years living by myself, so coming home and having to get used to living with my parents again took some getting used to but really i'd just like to take the next step.

Well, i have read back none of this so i'm very sorry if it's a bit all over the place but i really enjoyed sharing with you! Let me know of anything you've got going on at the moment, i'd love to hear.

Five Current Favourite Shoes

I've been wearing a few new pairs of shoes lately, so i thought it might be nice to share with you some of my favourites.

M&S Caged Toe Sandals in Orange & Gold | I last shared these shoes over a year ago, on the blog, and as i said in that post i also have these in black which are an absolute staple for my Summer wardrobe. What i love about the shoe in general is that they are so, so comfortable. They're perfect for my skinny feet as they have an ankle strap and they're just so pretty too. I love wearing them with jeans to jazz up an outfit but they're also a lovely alternative to heels. They're a lovely pop of colour for my Summer wardrobe.

New Look Black Cross Strap Sandals | These ones are new this year; i bought them right at the beginning of the Summer and, at the time, i really ummed and ahhed about buying them as it was right before payday. However, i'm really glad i did as they are unbelievably comfortable and real leather too. I couldn't believe they were real leather seeing as they were so reasonably priced. They go with everything and, again, they have a trusty ankle strap!

Office Kamper Flat Weave Shoes (White Version Here) | These are a more recent purchase, i bought these about a month ago and wasn't sure whether to keep them as i'm really unsure of pointed shoes. I eventually decided to keep them because they're unlike anything else i own, and they're real leather and very comfortable - once you get used to the slightly squished toes. I love the grey colour, as most of my shoes are black so they're something different for the Summertime and actually they'll be great in Winter too.

Topshop Black T-Bar Shoes | Another new addition to my collection this Summer, this time from Topshop. I used to buy shoes from Toppers all the time but haven't found anything i like for a couple of years. I love the t-bar style of these, great for my skinny feet, but i did get a few blisters from these along the toes. Again, they're real leather and pretty comfortable, for the most part. I love that they'll look great in the Winter, with tights, as well as bare foot during the Summer.

Black Converse All Star Low Tops | I practically live in these bad boys, they go with everything and i love how they can dress down a dress. I'm not a super girly dresser and it's sometimes nice to wear a girly dress and pair it with these. They are the ultimate in comfort, i can walk miles in them and actually i do when i'm in Florida as i wear blue ones. Everyone needs a good pair of Converse in their life, i think.

Anything pairs that you're loving at the moment?

My Disney Tag

As you're reading this i will have recently arrived home from a holiday in Florida and, more excitingly, Disney World! Despite that, while i'm writing this i am about to embark on said holiday - i know right, blog scheduling is weird. Anyway, since i've started the blog back up, it's been very review and beauty heavy which, don't get me wrong, i love. I personally love reading blogs for honest reviews and swatches too, so i'm glad to pass back the favour and share my thoughts on some of my favourite products. However, i really do miss the chattier side of the blog. So, for the next month things are going to the other extreme and it's gonna get real chatty around these parts. Hopefully, long term i can get the personally/product balance right.

To start things off, and to keep my holiday alive, i'm kicking things off with the Disney Tag. There are a few versions floating around the 'Tube so i've mashed a few together and, here, i'm sharing my answers and my memories with you.

From Top Left to Bottom Right: EPCOT's Spaceship Earth, Hollywood Studios' Tower of Terror, Magic Kingdom's Wishes & Animal Kingdom's The Tree of Life

1 | First Time you went to Disney World? It was 1999 and i was seven. That trip was the one, and only, time i've ever taken any time out of school for a holiday. It was during February half term and i had an extra week during school time. I remember it so vividly, we had just arrived back to school after a trip to the pantomime; it was pitch dark and i was sitting right at the back of the bus. Mr Ashton-Hall, one of my teachers, announced to the bus that i was getting off first because i was shooting off on holiday and everyone said goodbye to me as i walked all the way down the coach.

2 | Favourite Park? This has definitely changed over the years, but i think it always has been and will always remain Magic Kingdom. I know it's so cliche, but the Magic Kingdom epitomises Disney for me. I really used to dislike EPCOT, but it was always my Dad's favourite park, and i've now really grown to love everything about it. I love that it's still got that sparkle but without being too full on and overwhelming. However, i simply love the Magic Kingdom and what it stands for. It's amazing to see it grow and expand from the first time i saw it in 1999.

3 | Favourite Land in Magic Kingdom? Leading on from the last question, i think my favourite land is Frontierland. I love that it has two of the Mountains and i love the Country and Western atmosphere. I adore Country music, and i love the more relaxed vibe. I love the details; like the rocking chairs outside the stores, on the porch, i love Liberty Square on the end, i love the Liberty Belle, and watching people explore on Tom Sawyer's Island from the mainland. Oh, and the smells. Turkey legs, churros, pretzels and popcorn - delicious!

4 | Favourite Disney Resort Hotel? My favourite, that i've stayed in, is Port Orleans: French Quarter. It was so tranquil, peaceful and different for Disney. I really liked that there wasn't so many younger children and a lot more young couples and older families, but i really love the Sassagoula river running through it. My favourite of all of them, though? Without even visiting it, i really like the look of the Polynesian. I love the laid back look and i think Ohana looks lovely!

5 | Favourite Snack? A lot of Disney is about the food, for me. I talk about the foods i'm going to eat long before the holiday begins. If i have to narrow it down, i'd say my two favourite snacks are churros - which can be found, generally, in Frontierland, and Kakigori found at Kabuki's Cafe in Japan, in EPCOT. This year, however, i really want to try out the cream cheese pretzels, that i hear can be found in Hollywood Studios.

6 | Favourite Souvenir? My favourite souvenir is one that i think i haven't yet bought. I have been going to Disney nearly most of my life and i am yet to buy ears. I know, crazy huh? This year i want to buy the sequin Minnie ears and wear them the whole trip. Something that i've already got, however, is something that my parents bought for me, without me knowing, is a congratulations mickey. They gave it to me when i received my results and it's a lovely ceramic Mickey in a box, from the Best Wishes collection, by Lenox and he's holding a banner reading Congratulations.

7 | Favourite Table Service and Counter Service? I don't think i have ever eaten in a table service restaurant. We actually don't eat all that much in Disney because, frankly, it's expensive and we've just never found the Dining Plan for us. This trip, however, we've got a table booked at Chefs de France in EPCOT. It's my dad's choice, and i'm looking forward to it. If i could choose to eat anywhere, it would probably be the California Grill at the Contemporary. Not only does the food look expensive devine but you also have the opportunity to watch Wishes from the top, outdoor balcony. If you keep your receipt from your meal, that day, you can even come back later.

8 | Favorite Ride? Someone at work recently asked me this and i found it such a hard question to answer. I do really love Splash Mountain, it's just a classic. I also really love Toy Story: Midway Mania. Honestly though, there are too many to name: Thunder Mountain, Pirate's of the Carribean, Peter Pan's Flight, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin - i love them all.

9 | Favourite Show? I adore Fantasmic! I'm not sure if this counts as a fireworks or a show, but this is honestly by far my favourite show and it always has been. My parents enjoy it but i don't think they're as enamoured by it as i am. I tear up everything time, and for me it means so much. So much of Disney is wrapped up in this show; Villians, Mickey's Imagination, Sorcerer Mickey, so many of the characters - it's just spectacular.

10 | Favourite Parade or Fireworks? Wishes. Hands down, Wishes. I cry every darn time, it's just so beautiful. We heard a joke once, and actually i can't remember where it was that we heard it, but they said that Wishes was named so because it Wishes it was as good as Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, in EPCOT. My dad loves that jokes, as Illuminations is his favourite and tells it all the time.

Wishes Nighttime Spectacular, Magic Kingdom

11 | Favourite Pavilion in Epcot? Probably Mexico, i love how authentic and atmospheric it feels. Plus, i secretly love the Gran Fiesta Tour starring the Three Caballeros. It's just a nice break from the hustle and bustle, a break for your feet and i love to have a sing-a-long.

12 | What Colour is your Magic Band? This is the first year we'll be having magic bands and mine is red.

13 | Favourite Character to Meet? I've met plenty of characters over the years, but one of my favourite memories and, actually, my first memory of disney is walking into the Magic Kingdom and walking along the street was Peter Pan. In my head it was really quiet and i don't even remember seeing him with a handler, but i'm sure that can't be right. He was the first character i ever met and i love how much personality Peter Pan has.

14 | A Character you haven't Met but Really Want To? Now i'm older, i don't really meet characters purely because it can take up so much of your day. The lines can get so ridiculously long, and i'm not so bothered. But if i could meet any character, now, it would probably be Rapunzel or Merida, i just love how sassy they are.

15 | Your Best Disney Memory? This is so tricky, i've shared some with you already and there are so many more in my brain. One of them was meeting Jessie, from Toy Story 2, for the first time. I remember her stealing my pen and waving it around so i couldn't get it back. That was a lovely character interaction.

Main Street USA, Magic Kingdom

16 | A Scene in any Disney Movie you Wish you Could Experience? Maybe a weird one, but i secretly would love to be Hannah Montana and i would just love to live the Hannah Montana movie. I think i mentioned earlier that i love Country music, but i love the western vibes; the horses, the cowgirl boots, the cute boy.. You get my gist.

17 | What Non-Disney Song Reminds you of Disney and the parks? Although it probably counts as a Disney song, the reel of music played in the background at EPCOT. I love the music they play there, and as we're talking about EPCOT; the Sourin' song is something i love listening too when i'm getting excited for Disney. However two songs that are not at all Disney, that remind me of my time at Disney are Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson and Magic by B.O.B. Breakaway was a song i used to listen to a lot when i was travelling to Disney, and then it was in Princess Diaries and Magic is a song a lot of people use in Disney vlogs.

18 | If you Could Choose any Disney Character to be Your Best Friend, Who Would You Choose? I would choose Lily from Hannah Montana. I mean, look at the secret she keeps for Miley. I love the relationship they have, and what else could you ask for in a best friend!?

19 | Who is your Favourite Disney Princess? Since she is now
officially a princess, my favourite is Merida. She is just so Brave, pardon the pun. She's independent, sassy and fierce.

20 | Name a Moment in any Disney Movie that Never Fails to Make You Cry. You've watched the whole story; the naughty children, the rubbish nannies, Jane & Michael's letter, the perfect nanny is blown in by an East wind right at the perfect
moment, jumping into chalk pictures, and everything else. The moment Mary Poppins leaves the Banks' home, and the children run off with their father to fly a kite. I just love the whole story and it opens with one of my favourite Disney quotes: "Winds in the East, mist coming in, like somethin' is brewin' and 'bout to begin. Can't put me finger on what lies in store, but i fear what's to happen all happened before."

21 | What is the first Disney movie you remember seeing? I have to say that i can't remember the first ever Disney film i ever watched, but as a young child Cinderella, 101 Dalmatians, Beauty & the Beast and Lion King were all on on a regular basis.

Beauty & The Beast - Live On Stage, Hollywood Studios

22 | What is your favorite Disney movie? Probably Mary Poppins, Monsters Inc or Frozen.

23 | Who is your favorite Disney villain? Not a typical Disney villain but i can't help but love Lucifer, the cat, from Cinderella. He's a rascal, but that little pink nose and fluffy tail are too cute not to love. Plus, someone needs to keep those pesky mice in order!

24 | What is your least favorite Disney movie? I have never really connected with The Emperor's New Groove, Pete's Dragon, Honey I Shrunk the Kids or The Rescuers.

25 | What is your favorite Disney song? If i had to choose one it would probably be Colours of the Wind from Pocahontas.

26 | Who is your Favourite Side Kick? I love Maximus, from Tangled. I love his personality, how much he loves Rapunzel and his hooves have his name engraved!

Tangled Restrooms, Magic Kingdom

27 | All time Favourite Disney Soundtrack? Lets be honest here, there are hundreds of amazing Disney soundtracks but my goodness, Frozen is just so GOOD.

28 | Disneyland or Disney World? I've been to both, and hands down it's Disney World for me. I just think that it's magic. It means so much to me, for so many reasons, and i've honestly pretty much grown up there over most of my childhood Summers. Plus, it's just not Disney without Animal Kingdom, EPCOT & Hollywood Studios for me.

As you're reading this i will have recently returned from my latest Disney trip and i'm sure i'll have plenty more stories and pictures to share with you. So stay tuned for more Disney posts and hopefully some American beauty too, as trust me when i say i'll be doing plenty of shopping!
