#REVIEW | Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil

I have oily, combination, sensitive, acne prone skin and always have. I was your typical teenage girl, with break outs and bouts of acne all over my face, but most often on my forehead, my chin and my right cheek. I was also very uneducated in the world of skincare and spot etiquette; that's right, i was a picker. We've all done and we sometimes still do, because it's just so satisfying. I did, however, find that by opening up the blemish (Sorry, TMI) that it would heal quicker but in turn leave a nice, red scar. Although i never liked them, it never seriously bothered me because i just covered them with make up but as i've gotten older i'm learning more about skincare, make up and looking after my skin. Sometimes, i don't want to put my make up on and let my skin breathe but that kind of restricts me to the confines of my home as i don't want to take my bare faced skin outside.

So, a couple of months ago i started scouring the internet for remedies to reduce acne scarring. I found a lot of products that had great reviews, especially from Origins but if you know the brand then you know they can be quite pricey. However, another product that kept cropping up is Rosehip Oil and more specifically Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil. This is readily available in Boots and is still about £17 but that's still considerably less than the other high end products. So i decided i wasn't really loosing much by trying and i'd been wanting to try a face oil too, so two birds, one stone and all that. I picked this up from a larger Boots store so i don't know if it's available in local, smaller branches.

I've been using this for about two and a half months now and honestly there's a huge difference in my skin. I remember applying it for the first time, and even after an hour felt that my scarring looked blurred and even reduced. I apply this at night before i go to bed, so i don't have to worry about my make up slipping off during the day, and leave it on over night. I then clean my face in the morning and apply my make up as usual. Honestly, there's a difference and my face, especially my right cheek where i was worst hit and it's significantly less red and blotchy than before. I'm not saying my skin is now perfect but it's certainly much clearer and i feel much more confident about venturing out bare faced now. It says to apply a few drops on your face but i probably apply more than that and make sure to get it all over, it's not heavy but slightly greasy which is why i apply at night but by morning it's totally soaked in.

If you're looking for something to try on your acne scarring, i highly recommend this as a great place to start.

  1. Hi, just wondering if it's ok to apply the oil onto pimples?? Or is it just for scars? I have oily skin and lots of pimples and I'm scared that applying it all over my face might cause more break-outs..
