One Down, 19 To Go

Day one of my 30 for 20, so i have postponed my Friday Feeling for this week! I decided to ease myself in today as it was a little daunting this morning when i had such a limited collection compared to my usual bulging wardrobe! So here is todays outfit:

Topshop Bodycon Skirt / Dorothy Perkins Peter Pan Collar Top / H&M Nude Cardigan / Tesco Tights / Primark Chain Necklace

I really liked the combo from yesterdays post black peter pan collar top with the nude h&m cardigan, so i really wanted to try it again but try with a skirt instead and i really like how it transforms the combination. It makes it a little more interesting and a little more edgy, which i quite like. This top is so versatile, i also have it in a poppy print, and they just seem to go with everything - they're so easy to wear!

I volunteer at a Brownie pack every Friday night, so i swapped my bodycon skirt for my new look high waist denim shorts as they're a little bit easier to wear when you're running around like a crazy person! (Saying that, my Brownies really do make my day - they're amazing, and i don't know what i'd do without them brightening my week! I'm going to miss them in September)

As i said, any advice & opinions are welcome on all 30 for 20 outfits, and any suggestions too! I definitely recommend it, it's something i should have done a long time ago! xo

ps. For the beady eyed readers, spot my little, fury friend!

30 for 20; Remix Challenge!

Another go to outfit to start off the post:

Jeans: Primark / Top (Underneath): H&M / Top: Dorothy Perkins / Cardigan: H&M / Necklace: Gift from the Mr

So, i have decided to take a leaf out of Jen's book and do a sort of 30 for 30, however i have had to alter it slightly and make it 30 for 20 - 30 items for 20 days, and it's 20 days until payday and that doesn't include Sundays (when i work and have to wear my hideous lime green polyester).

For those of you who don't know, the original 30 for 30 is wearing only 30 items for 30 days, there are a few different rules where some include shoes, some include accessories and some include coats, but each tailor make it but it's still 30 items - i personally have chosen 30 items of clothing, including cardigans and jackets, but not including accessories as i rarely wear any, generally wear the same scarf and generally stick to a pair of black tights from tesco. My 30 items, include bottoms, tops, cardigans and jackets - i'm hoping not to need a coat!

I wrote down a list of 20 items, making it 20 for 20, but it just didn't give me enough variation - and i didn't want my college friends to think that i have ceased to wash or something similarly humiliating. So i decided to do 30 items for 20 days, and i'm very excited to start mixing and matching - i've wanted to try different combinations for a while and with a more limited collection, it'll be easier for me look at what i've got to work with. Starting tomorrow, i'll share with you my day to day combinations until the 28th May, aka payday.

Here is my final run down of items for the next 20 days:

Red H&M Jeans / Blue Topshop Tall Jeans / Camel Topshop Tall Jeans / Black Topshop Tall Jeans

Denim High Waist New Look Shorts / Red High Waist H&M Shorts / Denim Cath Kidston Skirt / Orange Splatter H&M Skirt / Cord Floral Topshop Skirt / Denim Bodycon Topshop Skirt

White New Look Tank Top / Pink Colour Block New Look Top / Orange Lemons Primark Top / Black Spotty Dorothy Perkins Top / Peach New Look Tank Top / White Ruffle Collar New Look Top / Motel Sunset Body / Black Strappy New Look Top / Black & White H&M Top / Leopard H&M Top / Yellow Sheer New Look Top

Nude H&M Cardigan / Leopard H&M Cardigan / Black H&M Cardigan / Floral H&M Cardigan

Black Quilted Tesco Jacket / Grey ASOS Boyfriend Blazer

I'm sure there will be occasions where i break the rules, for example it's my mum's birthday next week and i think it's acceptable for me to wear a fancy dress for dinner! But i'm excited to stick to this and make some really cool combinations - all opinions & advice welcome! Another rule of the 30 is that you are not allowed to buy any other clothing while taking part - i can hear my bank balance sighing!

So starting tomorrow, you'll start to see my choices appearing, i hope you stick with me on this odd but exciting journey! PLUS, the college course is slowly drawing to a close - bring on June!

The sun has got his hat on!

This week has seen me working like a trooper! I've been very proud of myself, as on Monday i spent my day doing overtime at work in order to save my pennies for summer & for university, come September. I've been frantically writing my essay that was supposed to be in for last Wednesday but due to my mac being AWOL, i've had to wait - but it's finally done, and finally handed in - PHEW! Since finishing my essay i've been sewing my fingers to the bone and completing as much book work as i can! I have had a seriously productive week, i'm very proud of myself! The weather has also kept me going as it's been gorgeous, but when i'm at home i tend to wear comfort over style but today i thought my outfit was comfortable but worked nicely together:

Top: New Look / Shorts: Topshop / Tights: Tesco / Necklace: Fat Face Via Gift

At the moment, shorts are my go to item! They're just so versatile, and especially denim - even better high waisted! They go with everything and are ever so comfortable, especially when you're at home frantically running up and the down the stairs between sketchbook and sewing machine! I bought this top a few months back when it was just getting to be spring, i wanted some easy to wear tops that i could just throw on but would still look nice. I picked it up in a stone colour too, but i find they crease quite easily which sometimes puts me off but i still love their versatility. I'm actually after a range of coloured tank/strap tops that are a little big and slouchy, that i can tuck in or wear out for the summer - i'm especially after a blush pink or peach colour, as that seems to go with everything!

Like i said, the weather has been gorgeous, but i think we'd be naive to think it'll last forever! Plus, i think the gardens are begging for some rain - the ground is so hard! A little sunshine goes a long way, and it just seems to make everyone happier and make everything seem that little bit easier. However, i know we've only just made it into May but i'm already ready for it to depart and for June to start! I wish it would hurry up and get a move on, quite frankly. I feel like May is such an in between month and this is my final month at college, so it's going to be a little hectic, so i'm definitely ready for it to be over!

May Day.

I can't believe we've flown through April and we're already settling into May, where has the time gone! I feel like it was just yesterday that i was waking up on my 19th birthday, and that was on the 3rd! I feel the same way about May as i do about March, that it's such an in between month and it's only really there to fill the gap and to get you to June. The next month is not going to be great, but i'm looking forward to finally finishing my course at college and spending a long summer with my J and my wonderful family before i follow in the Mr's footsteps down south, to the beautiful Southampton, and set up camp for the next 3 years.

Everything is becoming very real and it's all coming scarily quickly, but i'm feeling ready for the next chapter to begin and for this one to end.

As the past couple of days have either been busy saying goodbye, in my pyjamas or in my work uniform, outfit posts have been a little AWOL but i promise there are plenty in the pipe line as i have some lovely new pieces to share with you!

(Sporadic) Friday Feeling #14

Top: New Look / Cardigan: H&M

001. As this title may suggest, my posting has become pretty sporadic over the last couple of weeks! My outfit posts have gone totally down the drain and my time is so limited, as i've been busying myself with this, that and the other!

002. For starters, i have FINALLY got my laptop back after a week of moaning and calling, it's finally home - safe & sound. I'm a little disappointed with Apple, as they said it would be returned to me in 3 - 5 days, and today it has been a week. After calling up numerous times to check up on what was happening, i was informed that they had been waiting for a 'part', suggesting to me that obviously something needed to be fixed, however when going into the shop today the "genius" informed me that nothing had been changed and basically they couldn't find any problems. Where did this so called 'part' come into it!? Slightly dubious about the whole thing, but i suppose i've got it back now and can get on with my slacking work load.

003. My lovely Mr is also returning to Southampton tomorrow, so i will be back to to complaining about my work load, my boredom and my missing of said Mr! However, it'll be good for both of us in this busy time, exams for him & FMP home straight for me. I'll miss having him around but we'll be venturing down to Dorset in 4 short weeks for a weekend away, so i'm sure it'll seem like he never left!

004. SO. The topic on everybody's lips: The Royal Wedding! & More importantly, THOSE dresses (1,2)! What did you all think!? I just felt ever so emotional throughout the whole thing, and i never thought i would be. I just personally think that Kate & Wills are such a lovely couple, they looked so young, happy and in love - some true british romance! I think that the wedding was exactly what this country needed, nothing like a wedding to bring us all together! I thought that Kate looked absolutely gorgeous, and together they looked immaculate. Sarah Burton completely outdid herself and she has permanently put herself on the fashion map. Both dresses suited Kate totally, and the style was just impeccable! Perfect! How did all of you spend your days? I spent mine just lounging watching the wedding coverage, spending time with my Mr & his wonderful family, ever so lovely, and at least the weather held out!

005. Now, i would love to say that from here on out i'll be updating you regularly, but as all you students know we are now entering exam month, and for me FMP month, so things are going to become a little crazy! I'll be using blogging as a form of escape, so will hopefully be updating here there & everywhere.

006. I am very sad about my lovely Mr leaving for Uni tomorrow, but i know that it won't be long before i'll have him for 4 long months and won't be able to get rid of him! However, by that point i'll be moving back with him! So, to all you long distancers entering the next dreaded month together, all the luck in the world & hang on in there!
