Jade & Champagne

I spent my Wednesday lunching with lovely ladies Jess & Katie, in Cambridge. I was desperate for some girly time, and they really gave me my fix!

Shorts: Topshop / Shirt: New Look / Strappy Top (Underneath): H&M / Necklace: Gift from Jess / Tights: Tesco

I have had this shirt for so long, but always forget that i have it! It actually has a lovely long, floaty bottom (which you obv can't see in these photos) but it makes it easy to wear with everything: from jeans to shorts!

Jade Green & Champagne: Models Own

I'm also getting around to trying out my Models Own polishes, and i am loving this Jade colour! It's a beautiful matte shade and it really gives me my pastel fix! This Champagne colour is also so versatile, and seems to go with everything - it's definitely my new favourite!

Over on Danielle's Blog - A Blog from Blackpool - She's having a fab giveaway! You should definitely also check out her blog too, as she has some brilliant reviews, suggestions for the Blackpool area and some great fashion sense! So you should get on over there, it's well worth your time!

ps. Me & the Mr are looking to go away this Summer, as he already has his house in Southampton, we're planning on basing ourselves there. I was just wondering if anyone has ideas of nice places to visit in the surrounding area. We've already got plans to visit Brighton, Oxford & Bournemouth, with a possible visit to the New Forest (vehicle depending) but any suggestions are definitely welcome! We were looking at Bath, Winchester, Weymouth, etc so anybody who has any knowledge of such area please do let me know! xo

Summer Months?

So, is it Summer or not? So hard to decided when one day i'm wearing a jumper and the next a strappy top (however, i did later shove a cardigan, and then a jumper over the top!) Well, i am enjoying the sunshine - when it's out - and all this free time! I am getting a little bored but i'm getting lots of things done, and i am now getting my butt into gear and making some plans which i'm very excited about, so will have lots to fill you in on over the summer! However, i feel that my lack of making time skills will hold me back on posting, but i will do my best to keep you all up to date!

Before i start, here is a little memento of my time at college, mixed with my future which i really like!

SO yes! Summer is finally here.. OR IS IT? The weather is so interchangeable at the moment, i never know what to wear! I'm liking the layering up at the moment though, and this bargain buy, £6 in the New Look sale, has really been keeping me happy!

Shorts: New Look / Jumper: New Look / Necklace: Dorothy Perkins / Sunglasses: Dorothy Perkins / Tights: New Look

It tends to be worn with the sleeves rolled up (which you can sort of see in the middle photo) and one shouldered, i love the sort of 'thrown on' look it seems to exude. I am also loving the Catseye style sunglasses this season, and they are everywhere! I've seen a lovely mint pair.. but am having trouble remembering where it was i spotted them, so any heads up would be great! This lovely pair i bought on the trip my mother and i took to St. Neots, and to Cath Kidston, along with this gorgeous, chunky, gold number that was in the sale half price! As for the shorts, i am wearing them to death since i bought them the day before my birthday, 2 months ago, as i had been searching for this very pair for months - eventually finding them in one of the Oxford Street, London, branches. An early birthday present to me! They have turned into such a staple and can be worn in so many ways!

I wore the jumper/shorts combo for helping at Brownies last night, as the weather was a little unstable - paired with a centuries old pair of Leopard Print Gladiators from Peacocks. I actually really loved it, but aren't those last minute outfits always the best!?

So, from a jumper to a lack of! Today the weather started out lovely and warm meaning i could whip the arms out!

Shorts: Tesco / Tank Top: H&M / Strap Top (Underneath): New Look / Necklace: Dorothy Perkins / Tights: Tesco

I absolutely LOVE these shorts, and despite them being quite a light summery colour, and material, they are ever so versatile. As i am now sitting here with the jumper from the previous outfit on over this. They were quite an impulse buy, but i am really loving shorts at the moment. They make me feel sort of like a child, so i can just mess around and not have to worry - they're definitely a go to for me!

I'm considering doing a post about my experience of the Art Foundation Year/Applying for University, now i know that most of you have already gone through this but i thought it'd be nice for all those who haven't just to have that opinion! However, my good friend Jess has written an amazingly witty post about her experiences in Applying for a Fashion Course, and, as we've learnt, it really is a law unto itself! So, you should definitely give it a read HERE! And as for my Friday Feeling posts, they are TOTALLY going out the window! I'm going to try my best to keep them up as often as i have exciting things to tell you - but any requests of posts are welcome too! I'm also interested in rekindling my love of photography this summer, so i might do some sort of weekly photos or something, we'll see how the summer pans out, but frankly i can't wait for it to start!

Style

(Not to bore you too much but here are some holiday snaps from the weekend!)

Tim & Mary at the beach

Brunel Manor, Where we stayed

As i said in my previous post, i had a lovely time spent with the Mr's family and himself, the weather was gorgeous and it was a lovely break from the daily grind.

Now, i told you in my last post that on Tuesday i spent my day with the girls at Cambridge Journal/Style Magazine, shadowing the Editor Louise Cummings. I had the most wonderful day that really confirmed to me that this is the industry i want to end up in.
I spent my morning frantically deciding what to wear that gave the perfect balance of keen to learn, smart and professional and fashion chic. I ended up wearing something similar to what i wore for my Private View, seen in THIS post, however i was in such a tizz i didn't take a picture! I wore the same Topshop Tartan Pencil Skirt, except paired with a Black Tank Top, Mustard Yellow Cardigan & my new Cream and Brown Satchel, from Primark. My day started off not so great when my little town of St. Ives decided today was the day to totally block up! I spent an hour sitting in traffic, luckily i left about 45 minutes before i needed to be there - which made me only about 10 minutes late which she totally understood!

I spent my morning helping Louise in sourcing images for three of their main articles next month - Pastels, Fruity & Maxis, then onto the obligatory Festival wear, which i really enjoyed as that's totally down my alley! We spent our time searching through Look Books and sourcing images from online press sites. I spent my lunch making notes but after, it got even more exciting when she asked me to write an article, hopefully running in July's issue of Style! It was a review and informational article on the new Lady Gaga book Strange & Beautiful, written by Laura Coulman. As i am a pretty big Gaga buff, it was really cool to write and Louise loved it - as i did! So she asked me write an article for her third magazine Trend Hertfordshire, about three girls from Hertfordshire who will be climbing Matchu Pitchu in aid of the Sick Children's Trust. I have never written anything like that before, which Louise understood so she helped me edit it afterwards which was so handy, and showed me the signature style of writing for the magazine (calling people by their first names, always, and adding in fun words like delicious and quirky). She even asked me to write a third article about the up and coming Cambridge Comedy Festival, and about a comedienne performing there; Zoe Lyons. I had such an incredible day and even if the articles don't run, i am honoured that she even asked me! I had such a great time, and sourcing the images for the fashion articles so it'll be cool to see what i experience on the day in the glossy pages of Style Magazine!

Back Again!

I have really had to motivate myself to write this time around, i don't know why because i have really missed it but i think i've had such a busy time the past couple days it's just taken it out of me! However, i had a pretty bad day today which made me just want to write, so here i am full of posts!

I'll start off with an outfit that i really liked, that i wore before the weekend:

Shorts: Topshop / Top: H&M / Jacket: Primark / Tights: Tesco

This jacket is absolutely gorgeous, despite only being a Primark bargain, i went in looking for something like this and came out with what i wanted! The colours and the print are perfect for Spring/Summer and i love the poppies hidden in there! It's a really nice mix of being light and floaty, but when it's a little bit cooler it does keep the wind off, which is lovely!

The last couple of days have been absolutely hectic, as you all know i spent the weekend away in Devon which was lovely and perfect timing as the weather was glorious (resulting in a rather pink back!) but a lovely weekend all the same! However, i had such a good time that i totally forgot to take any outfit posts! I did take some lovely snaps of the area which i will share in a later post.

MOST importantly i finally finished college on Monday, taking down the work that i slaved over and last but not least i got my final grade.. I was ever so proud of myself as i was only expecting to pass the course, but i came out with a Merit! I am so happy, and so proud as i worked exceptionally hard. This is what i wore for my very satisfying day!:

Skirt: Topshop / Top: New Look / Cardigan: H&M / Tights: Tesco

Yesterday was spent at my work experience at Cambridge Journal/Style Magazine, which i will also share about in a later post, but i had a brilliant day!

I had a lovely time reading your 40 + blog posts, i have missed you lovely ladies! xo

Red Poppy

High Waisted Shorts: Topshop / White Strap Top: H&M / Poppy Top: Dorothy Perkins / Cardigan: H&M / Necklace: Claire's / Tights: Tesco

Quick post due to to tiredness and irritation (probably due to tiredness!) This is a serious go to outfit for me, as i had little time to think this morning before i shot out the door to the hair salon. I love these Dorothy Perkins peter pan collar tops, they work with just about everything and these shorts are a god send - trendy and versatile!

I am more than pleased with my results from the salon and i finally took the plunge to go red - not quite Rihanna red but a happy medium for me, let me know what you think!
