Twas The Night Before Christmas;

Twas the night before christmas, when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap, had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

My christmas has been made that little bit warmer, and more special, as i have won a gorgeous Cath Kidston bag from Jen's (A Little Bird Told Me) 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway! So a HUGE thank you and Merry Christmas to her, and her blog!

I've had a fab time this year, and have changed, and grown up, tremendously. I'd just like to thank everyone for the love and support, and can't wait to tackle 2011 head on.

Bring It On!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!

Style.

Seeing as i'm not spending christmas day with the mr, due to family ties for both of us, we had our christmas present opening on Wednesday.

Now, my mr isn't exactly the best at present ideas (seeing as i had to come up with the majority of our present ideas, for our families!) but this year he really out did himself! Other than the three beautiful letters he wrote me, and gave to me at three spots that mean a lot to both of us (the river, our tree & at home) - this may not seem like a very exciting christmas present to many of you, but to me this ment the entire world. He's not the world's best writter, nor very good at getting out emotion, so these were truly very special to me, and i'll treasure them forever. Not only did he write me these, but he also bought me this:

Lauren Conrad's book: Style.

Now, i have always been an avid LC fan, and also a complete book worm, but this made me fall in love with her all over again. I've followed her from Laguna Beach, through The Hills and beyond - and this has just topped it all off. Now, i've read my far share of books (so my acheing bookcase would tell you) but i'm going to make a bold statement and say -

that this is my most favourite book, i've ever read.

It combines my absolute love of fashion and style, and is written in a beautiful mix of chatty and helpful. Without sounding very arrogant, the writing style reminds me very much of myself. I'm unsure if it's because she writes with a similar style to mine, or if it's because she sort of reminds me, well, of me! Either way, i've already read it once and am starting on it again! It gave me the boost i've been waiting for, to have an extreme, and brutal, clear out of eveyrthing i own - from clothes to shoes, from tights to nail polish! Now i've read every one of Gok Wan's books, and i'm in love with him as much as the next person, but his books never showed me the passion i was looking for. Until i found this book, i was waiting for that passion.

(I also thought i'd show you a sneak peek at what i bought for the mr!)

That would be 2kg of jellybelly jellybeans! A little extreme, maybe, but he loved it and i'm very pleased with myself!

I hope you all have a merry little christmas, and a cracking new year!

All Wrapped Up!

Jumper: Next / Skirt: American Eagle / Leggings: Next / Leopard Print Belt: Next

I've never really been that into next, but at the moment - i'm going next crazy! I've even asked for some next for christmas!

Now it's getting chillier, i've wanted to keep even warmer but keep things interesting! I havn't gotten this american eagle skirt out of my wardrobe, for some time and decided this would be the perfect time, especially as i was having a pickle about what to wear for college on this particular day! You can't see very well on this photo (due to awful lighting!) but it's got a gorgeous, tiny stripe in two shades of light blue denim and it's adorable!

This jumper is one of my personal favourites right now! It's a khaki-ish green, but has a metallic gold thread sewn in, alongside the green - keeps things interesting, and even a little christmassy! I've wanted a jumper with furry shoulders for a while! I spotted one in topshop for a purse draining price, and it wasn't particularly warm looking (large, holey knit). I found this when i was out shopping with my mum, and it wasn't the cheapest of items (!) but i fell in love with instantly, and it's been a hit ever since - keeping thing interesting for open days, college and lunches!

White Shirt Shoot

After finally getting my photo's from todays' 'White Shirt Project' Shoot onto my computer, i thought i would share my favourite's from the day with you!

From Top to Bottom: Sammy's Shirt Beanbag / Jess' Patriotic Shirt / Lisa's Military Shirt Jacket / My Structured Uniform Shirt / (All modelled by myself)

The Brief: Called the White Shirt Project, all we were told was that our fabric would be white shirts and that our theme would be Identity. We could do whatever we liked to our shirt(s); Dye, Rip, Ruche, Cut, Sew - Anything, except that we had to keep some identity of the shirt, eg: buttons, collar, cuffs, etc. and this is what me and 3 of my friends came up with!

What do you think? Have you had any interesting projects lately?

Legs Eleven!

I pre apologise for the awful quality of photo, and lighting, as i had to take it in a rush before college & when i get up there's no natural light yet!

This is my first outfit post, which is very exciting! I've wanted to wait to do some outfit posting as recently college has been so messy and SO cold that i've definitely been dressing more for warmth and to protect my beautiful clothes! However, at college today we were doing a photoshoot of our work, so i was safe in the knowledge that i wouldn't be getting messy!

Tunic (worn as top): Topshop / Skirt: Topshop / Leggings: Next

These simple, black leggings are PURRRfect for me as they're from the lovely next TALL range! As a rather tall lady, i find it difficult to find trousers/leggings that are long enough for my fabulously long legs! After casting aside topshop, new look and dorothy perkins leggings, i finally landed on this perfect pair. They're soft, they're stretchy and what's even better is that (so far) they don't go baggy at the knee, which i have found in most other leggings! That is my pet peeve and i'm glad i've finally landed on these to keep my legs nice and cosy this winter! (However, i am wearing a pair of gorgeously warm tesco tights underneath, as it's particularly nippy at college!)

For any others of you long legged beautys out there, i seem to have tried and tested a whole lot of long items in my time, and here is my quick summary!

Despite being, a lot of the time, out of my price range and being pretty pricey (for highstreet) at a purse draining £40 a pair, Topshop jeans are my favourite of favourites. They're soft and cosy, and they keep they're fabulous shape. Whether they're flared or skinny, my ultra fave being super skinny, these jeans are the best! If you're desperate for that new pair of jeans and are flagging a bit in the bank balance, this month, they take a look at Dorothy Perkins jeans, they're not as well fitting as others, i've found, but ranging from £12 (in the sale) and £20 otherwise, to about £30, they're worth the money. I've found they're well made and the denim is always at a very good quality. I am also an avid wear-er of leggings, and also jeggings (jean leggings), (i know a lot of peole think they're a complete fashion faux pas but i find them comfortable, stylish (when dressed well) and flattering for my long, slim frame.) and as i said above, i have found that Next have fabulous both leggings and jeggings. I am always on the hunt for new Tall collections and am interested in any suggestions you may have!

Where are your favourite collections? Or are you petite and have some favourite petite ranges you'd like to share? I'm always interested!
