REVIEW: Benefit It's Potent! Eye Cream

Benefit It's Potent! Eye Cream: RRP £23.50

This is one of the products i'm not so thrilled with from my little Benefit collection. I found that, actually, it doesn't really do that much. It's supposed to "fade dark circles & helps smooth fines lines for brighter, younger-looking eyes." Now, if it really did what it said on the metaphorical tin, i'd love this product because i want something that does just that. Sadly, i didn't see any difference after using this cream. Maybe i'm being a little premature and maybe i'm not giving it a good enough chance, but so far - i ain't impressed!

#AussieAngels

Now, i've been thinking about writing this post for weeks and i've been fretting about how to approach because i know that the Aussie team love a bit of creativity so, like suggested, i thought of sketching an extravagant picture but drawing isn't my strong point, i thought about making a video raving about my favourite products but Youtube isn't my friend and i just don't think a slideshow would do any justice. I came to realise that if i wanted to be an #AussieAngel then i've just got to be yourself, because that really is the best i can be and, frankly, seeing as though i'm on a Journalism degree course - i'd like to think that, in fact, writing is one of my strong points.

Now, i'm not going to reel off a list of reasons why i should be chosen to be one of the new #AussieAngels, i'd like to think that that will be obvious because this brand saved my hair.

My Hair Story

Every girl loves her locks and will do whatever it takes to make it look it's best. I chose to bleach my hair every 5 - 6 weeks for a good two years to be the blonde bombshell i always knew i was. Sadly, this left my poor hair damaged and dehydrated so i knew it was time to quit the blonde and begin to look after my tresses.

This was easier said than done. Merely dying my hair rather than bleaching took the heat off of the bleaching, but only masked the damage and my hair became brittle and broke off when brushing. Not good. It wasn't until i was lucky enough to win an Aussie Party Pack which contained Aussie's Three Minute Miracle Reconstructor Deep Conditioner that i was really introduced into what is this amazing brand. This was only the beginning, as i loved the deep conditioner so much i knew i need to give other products a go and that's when i met my soulmate. Aussie's Miracle Hair Insurance Leave In Conditioner that i raved about in this post. This product changed my life! It's taken my horrible, unhealthy, brittle hair back to it's original softer, healthier self and in fact improved my forever thin to hair to be thicker and livelier than it ever has been before.

Basically, what i'm trying to say is Thank You. This brand is one of the friendliest, most approachable brands i have ever had the pleasure to come in contact with and it'd be an amazing opportunity to get to know the brand even more. Previous Aussie Angels are some of the most amazing bloggers i've come across, and it'd be an honour to follow in their footsteps.

& That's why i'd love to be an #AussieAngel!

Lip Butters are Back

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters in 025 Peach Parfait, 050 Berry Smoothie & 015 Tutti Frutti

Finally, FINALLY, i tracked down pretty much the entire Lip Butters spectrum in my hometown's Superdrug - honestly, i don't know why i haven't been checking Superdrug, there was just so much hype around them going into Boots that i just.. forgot! So finding them in Superdrug was like striking gold, giving me the opportunity to swatch them all and surprisingly i didn't go for the ones i expected - it's always so difficult to know when looking online. So, since buying Peach Parfait i've now picked up Berry Smoothie and Tutti Frutti, which are honestly what i've been searching for in my quest for the best day to night lip colours!

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie

I hate this cliche, but this is one of those 'your lips but better' kind of shades, and it really, really is! Like Peach Parfait, this shade has some shimmer but different to the other it's a little more subtle and makes the lips looks glossy rather than ultra shimmery. It's just a great all round colour that i'd feel comfortable wearing all day long, and into the evening. I feel it dresses up my lips without being all "LOOK HOW BRIGHT MY LIPSTICK IS".. if you understand. This is my new ME colour, i love her and it's becoming my go-to.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti

Now this, is my beloved, forever searched for orange/coral lip product. I've forever wanted a wearable orange lip shade a la Zoella, but unlike her i'm not brave enough to rock that bright pop or colour so this is the perfect alternative. It gives me an all over coral tone without being too "look at me", and i like that this colour doesn't have shimmer like the previous two. It works best as just an all over gloss. It's the perfect shade to rock from day to night, and beyond.

I love this product and hope to continue to use them in my daily routines, maybe even branching out into a few colours that i wouldn't initially gravitate to.

OOTD Twenteen

Top: New Look | Strap Top (Underneath): H&M | Belt: Primark | Jeans: Topshop | Necklace: Past Times | Nail Polish: China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy & Rimmel Euphoria

This is what i wore for my birthday! I bought the top the day before, since i'd been eyeing up in my local New Look and thought it'd be nice for an easy Springtime look. I didn't want anything too fancy so stuck to my dark Leigh jeans from topshop and through a black cardigan and my new leather jacket over the top.

I adore this necklace, i received it for my birthday a year, or two, ago from my parents and have worn it for a few occasions but admired it from afar. But now my style is a-changin' i'm loving wearing it during the day to jazz up an otherwise simple outfit. The jeans, however, are my newest pair and were to replace an old black pair that were becoming a little worse for wear. These i love, they're super comfortable - almost legging like - and i love the fact they're a block colour and not a usual denim wash.

My style seems to be slowly evolving at the moment, so we'll see where it goes but i'm loving easy chic at the moment, as well as stand out pieces.

REVIEW: Benefit Triple Performing Facial Emulsion

Benefit Triple Performing Facial Emulsion: RRP £19.50

Again, i love this product. Just like the Refined Finish Facial Polish, it does exactly what it says on the box: "Triple performing facial emulsion SPF 15 PA++ hydrates, protects & comforts the skin with an oil-free, lightweight formula."

I'm a little skeptical of using things under my make up, and i have to say i don't really like to as i feel it effects the way make up goes on. However, i thought i'd try this product how it's meant to be used: "Apply with fingertips to freshly cleansed face & neck each morning." to get a proper result from the product, and i have to say i've been converted.

I used the product in the morning, after i'd showered the night before, also after cleansing and toning with my usual Simple products and the morning after i'd tested out the Benefit Facial Polish. A great aspect of this product is that it has a pump top, rather than just a hole making it super easy to get the product out, and it took a few pumps to cover the bottom part of my face/neck and one pump to get the rest of my forehead. It went on sort of wet but slowly dried and sunk into the skin. After i'd finished my entire face, my skin felt super smooth and hydrated. What i loved most about this product is that didn't affect the way my make up went on, in fact it probably made it easier to apply which is a plus in my book.

I highly recommend this product if you suffer from dry skin days, like i do, and especially if, like me, you use acne cream/gel that dries out the skin.

Models Own Beetlejuice

I kindly received the Models Own Beetlejuice collection for my Birthday, so thought i'd join the bandwagon and blog them.

Aqua Violet

Aqua Violet is a gorgeous purple toned blue, when you first look at the polish it look a definite blue but when you spin the bottle in the light, you can see the gorgeous violet tinge to the edges of the varnish.

Pinky Brown

This is a gorgeous pink that seems to have a golden shine, it's an odd colour as it's a really bold pink but isn't too much thanks to the intense shimmer and golden edge.

Emerald Black

From afar this colour looks like a deep teal, but up close - in the light - it looks like an emerald green but in the shadows a black shimmer. It's not as "beetlejuice" or duochrome as the other polishes in the collection.

Purple Blue

To me, purple blue doesn't have enough blue in it to warrant it's name sake - i think the polish is a double purple, it has a deep violet base with a lighter, pink toned purple as it's duochrome and shimmers in the light with a hint of blue in certain lights.

Golden Green

This is probably the plainest of the shades, being a simple golden lime green type colour, although it definitely has gold tones in it - it's not exactly duochrome like the rest of the polishes, it's more just one solid colour with intense shimmer, it's a beautiful colour all the same.

Tropical Sun

Tropical Sun is one of the three new Spring collection Beetlejuice polishes released for the new season. Along with Indian Ocean - which my mum purchased - and Copper Pot, these polishes are a lot more light and bright, compared the deeper toned colours of the Winter collection. I loved this colour so much i had to buy it on top of receiving the Winter collection for my Birthday!

REVIEW: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 025 Peach Parfait

I have been waiting to hunt this product down as soon as i saw Missglamorazzi talking about them on her Youtube channel. However, i'm a little dissappointed that the range of colours the states have got hasn't translated to the UK, however i'm willing to look passed that as i'm enjoying my experience so far. I have to say that although the colour pay off isn't great for this colour, it really does jazz up the lips. I picked Peach Parfait as in introductory colour as it's a nice nudey, coral colour full of shimmer and once applied you tend to notice the shimmer more than anything - as it is quite intense. However, the formula is amazing, super moisturising and a definite hybrid between a tinted lip balm and a lipstick - but i'm liking the change from regular heavy lip colours. It's perfect for the coming warmer months for something a little lighter in usual, and with a little more gloss. I really like the product but definitely want to test out some other colours as i'm not sure i've found mine yet.

REVIEW: Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish

Benefit Refined Finish Facial Polish: RRP £17.50

First, and foremost, i adore this product. It does exactly what it says on the Benefit tin: "Refined finish facial polish beautifully brightens the complexion, gently exfoliating to purify the skin & help minimise the appearance of pores to reveal skin's natural radiance."

As soon as i had washed off the product, i could instantly see my skin was brighter. My skin looked softer, healthier and clearer than it previously had, and blemishes/scarring even looked better.

I used the product exactly as instructed, maybe scrubbing a with a little more pressure in places, like the creases of my nose to really get into the area, left it for a few moments and then washed off with cold water first using my hands and then with a wash cloth to get the remaining product off.

This is a product i would definitely consider re-buying, even at the price which actually isn't all that bad for such a brilliant product, all 127.5g of it.

(Belated) Mother's Day

Skirt: Primark | Top: Primark | Belt: Primark | Necklace: Past Times

Since the beautiful weather hit the UK, i've been boosting my Spring wardrobe ready for the warmer months of SS12. Now, i have never been a maxi fan, ever. Maybe because it's usually almost impossible to find affordable skirts/dresses for the leggy among us but this month i've been really into the laid back, summer style and have bought myself not one but two maxi skirts. What's going on here and what have i done with myself? I have to say i did feel a little self conscience wearing it, but it was the first time wearing a maxi skirt out of the house, for me, and i had dressed it up a little as i was going out for lunch, but i do really love it. It's easy to dress for all occasions and it's comfortable, but chic all in one - and frankly, who doesn't want that?

Shellys London

Until i searched on Amazon for the perfect shoe to replace my forever adored golden shoes, i had never heard of Shellys London but boy am i glad i found 'em.
EDIT: I have now noticed you can buy a selection of their products from New Look!

Shellys London Cupcake 2 Multicoloured Glitter

These, my friends, are my beautiful new shoes. Not only are they exactly what i was looking for, but better. Everything i disliked about my Topshop gold shoes, these shoes kicked they're glittery butts right into space. Thanks to a pair of inner soles they fit like i glove - as i'm somewhere between a size seven and eight and a seven is always too small - and have the perfect little heel to stop my poor feet pounding the pavements, unlike my gold versions which bruise my poor feet after long days walking. The attention to detail with these shoes is amazing - the graphic logo inside, the quirky print on the sole, the packaging (shown in the first image), everything. They're full of sparkle and the glitter content is amazing, it feels super thick with layers of multicoloured sequins, of glitter. The shoe itself also feels super sturdy and that they'll keep me going for years to come. I can't recommend these enough, and the postage was speedy and the packaging perfectly wrapped. The box, shown above, wasn't any old shoe box but brightly coloured and graphically printed with pink and white tissue wrapping the shoes inside. Basically, i'm in love.

Birthday Bits & Bobs

Seeing as i got my beautiful leather jacket for my birthday, i didn't really ask for anything else. There were a few things that i would have liked, things that i would never have bought of for myself as they're a little pricey but i didn't ask for them as i wasn't expecting other gifts. However, my wonderful parents surprised me with three main gifts - besides my jacket - and then a few other bits and bobs, like duvet covers and boots vouchers. Here's just a little post to show you my three favourite gifts i received, from my parents.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

I have been dying to own this palette, even before it was released. I wasn't such a fan of the original palette's shades, but when i saw this one i knew it was much more me! I was super happy to unwrap this, the shades are gorgeous buttery neutrals, which is what i always reach for. They go from blackout all the way through the best of UD's golds, champagnes, bronzes and purple tones right up to Foxy.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Perfume

I learned i loved this scent on the way to Paris, and i knew that this was the perfume for me. It's the most gorgeous, girly scent without being too sickly or sweet. It smells young and fresh, exactly what i wanted in a fragrance.

Here's a sneak peek to one of my most.. stand out gifts. I can't wait to share them with you, but frankly they deserve a post all to themselves!

Twenteen: Topshop Boutique Leather Jacket

So, here she is! My most wanted, most dreamed about, main birthday present. I've wanted a new leather jacket forever, but i was in desperate need of a new camera for Christmas and frankly i don't have the cash to splash myself, so i've waited for my birthday and it was so worth it.

The price tag really is extortionate, but for this jacket i kinda feel it's worth every penny. I tried on, in store, the PU version of this jacket by Topshop but the material was plasticy and stiff, making the sizing really awful - i'm usually a ten, but felt a 14 was somewhere about right. The leather on this jacket is, honestly, like butter. It's soft and smooth, and just delicious.

My previous leather jacket was just from a leather store, so was pretty shapeless and didn't have much of a style so i absolutely love how this nips in to fit the body in this gorgeous biker style jacket. I bought it in a size up, to give me a little more room for fitting things under it in the Winter, and such, and it still fits perfectly with less layers.

I'm so happy with it and can't wait to wear it with everything!

Twenteen Antics

Birthday Morning watching Youtube Videos & a Muller Crunch Corner | Birthday Mani Feat. China Glaze & Rimmel | Daffodils | Gifts! | Birthday Tweets | Birthday OOTD Sneak | Cutest Kitten | Kinder Egg Gift | Hail Stones! | Sneak Peek of a Birthday Gift!

So, i'm finally 20. How time flies, it only feels like yesterday that i was turning 18 but i'm now done being a teenager and am heading, at full pelt, into my twenties - which i've heard, from Law, are the best years. Apparently twenteen doesn't count, but i think it has a much better ring to it.

I've never been one for being centre of attention, or roaring parties or anything too mad, so spending time with my loved ones is more than enough for me.

Here are a few snaps from my Birthday! As i said, i'm not really a bells and whistles kinda gal, so lunch with my mama and dinner with my Mr & parents was right up my street. It was nice to spend some time at home and the town where i grew up.

Are you a full on birthday person, or like me, a loved ones kinda dealy?
